Technically and literally, an empty video is a hollow video, with no information, that is to say, a black screen displayed during a certain time. Now, how helpful is this type of video in PlayFilm? Why this default resource has been created in the Media library? At certain times, you may need to use some interactivity which has no base video associated.
Such can be the case of Infinite content or a Mighty Button that are displayed on a static background –an image, graphic or design–, to give an example. Since it is an indispensable requirement that any interactivity has to function on a video, the Empty video acts as multi-purpose resource that “hosts” this interactive content. Another particular case is the Action Dragger interactivity.
The image sequence linked to this interactivity is usually placed on an Empty video, for practical reasons. It can also be used as a substitute for a video of which you have still not the final version, so that other elements can be placed on it.
