To import your video files from your computer to your interactive project's storage, go to the Videos tab ─inside the Editor─ click on Add video and select all the video files you want to upload. PlayFilm supports multiple file upload on queue, you'll be able to check the uploading process of listed videos from a new window.
Once uploaded, all the videos will be available in the Videos tab, where you'll be able to preview, rearrange and rename them, you can upload videos while inside the Editor as well. Locate the files in your hard drive and access the import function at the Library panel. In the prompted window, click on the white rectangle to open a window on the file explorer of your operating system, select as many video files as you want and click open. For your own convenience, you can also drag the files from a folder of your operating system to the white rectangle. When you drop the files, they will start uploading to the server. On the second import screen, the one in which files being imported are listed, as far as videos go, a process of uploading takes place first. When it comes to its end, the files are already uploaded to PlayFilm's server but not yet available for publication.
Right after being uploaded, the transcoding process will begin, you can close the importing window and keep working while processes remain in the background. PlayFilm will notify you each time a file has been efficiently transcoded. The first transcoding can be skipped when uploaded video files are having the mp4 format with a H.264 encoding. When transcoding has come to its end, the file will not be yet available for publication, but will be displayed on the library and you will be able to use it in your project.
If after the import window closes, you go to Library and cannot see your file, an error may have occurred with the filename and consequently, the name has been edited automatically. When an error in the transcoding is given, select your video in Library and go to the Info tab. There you will find the Retranscode button available, click it and the transcoding process will be initiated again.
