All projects created and published with PlayFilm automatically store a high amount of valuable data in the form of metrics.
Every user ─regardless of the user plan─ have access to the Basic Metrics which contains the following data:
- unique users
- viewing time
- interactions per user
- active users
- time earned
This information can be accessed from the project management panel, place the mouse pointer on the project of which you wish to consult metrics and search the icon representing a bar chart.
The Advanced Analytics are accessible with Piwik, Google Analytics or ComScore. From the Publishing Panel you can choose which events you want to analyse: All, None or Select ─use Select to choose the interactivities that you want to track. Once it is configured, if your user plan is Premium or Unlimited, your Piwik metrics ─PlayFilm’s default─ will be automatically created.
What is an event? All the interactivities you use in your interactive video projects automatically generate traceable events, which means that you will be able to have control over interactivities having more success and generating more interactions.
Configuring the register of Google Analytics and ComScore requires the same steps as when the default metrics are used. Follow those two simple steps to set them:
- Choose Google Analytics or ComScore in the Publication Panel and they will appear some empty fields to fill out. Add your Analytics or ComScore IP into the IP field.
- To end the process and analyse your Interactive Video results, you just need to insert the tracking code from Analytics or ComScore, and insert it on your Interactive Video’s landing page.
DON'T FORGET TO SAVE AND PUBLISH YOUR PROJECT (ACTIVATE THE PUBLIC SHARE), IN ORDER TO START THE EVENT'S REGISTER.
Basic Analytics or Advanced Analytics are accessible from either the Project controls or the Stats tab. Click on the project whose metrics you want to check and look for the bar graphic icon. When you click on that icon a new window will open inside the Dashboard with the data from Basic Analytics. In that same window, click on Advanced Analytics to access the metrics in Piwik, Google Analytics or ComScore.
